In 1974 they were making $2.05 an hour and machines were giving off dangerous fumes. Asked how you get promoted, one worker stated, "You want the truth? It's who you sleep with." (UnionWAGE July-Aug 1974). Teamster women workers, themselves on strike for 4 months against the Martinez Bus Lines, supported sister strikers on the picket line. |
